Froogle hails from the remote village of Hillbury. He grew up there and apprenticed to the village sage until he was 50 years old when he became the new village sage after the old one died unexpectedly. When he was 75 years old, he took on an apprentice named Marfle. Marfle was Froogle's apprentice for 25 years at which point he expressed an interest in taking over as the village sage. Froogle protested that Marfle was too young and that he still needed 75-100 more years of apprenticeship.

Over the next several years, Marfle became more and more dissatisfied with Froogle and would contradict him over smaller and smaller issues. After 10 years of this discord, Froogle confronted Marfle and told him to either straighten up, or leave and apprentice with another village sage. Marfle chose to leave.

All was well for the next 5 years before the village elder fell ill. Despite all of Froogle’s efforts, he could not cure him and it was expected that he would die. Marfle unexpectedly showed up and claimed he had learned of new cures from his other, wiser sage, and was able to cure the village elder. Despite the obvious logic that Marfle had been the source of the illness, the village elder would not listen and asked Froogle to step down so that Marfle could take over as the new village sage.

Not much of a fighter, Froogle chose to step aside for Marfle. He went into seclusion for the next 35 years and focused on his Druidic studies. He also chose to try and discover the “why” behind Marfle doing what he did. After 34 years, his eureka finally came: Marfle killed Froogle's teacher and also poisoned the village elder. He is now controlling the village elder.

Marfle is being mind-controlled by the regional warlord, Lord Bertram. He is after the land so as to expand his kingdom.

Froogle is going adventuring to gain wisdom, worldly experience, and maybe make enough money/friends to free his village.

Froogle was recently de-aged by 5 years while confronting the witch(?) Selphara and encountering her powerful wild magic.

Loves berries and will randomly cast the 1st level spell Good Berry just so he can eat them or offer them to others.

Became fast friends with Novelty, the half-elf Paladin.
